Eli fiddled with his mask, taking advantage of the fact that the lenses hid his eyes as he looked around.
This was their first time dealing with the press since before Iron Man’s Civil War. Sure, Stature had been picked by the SHRA bosses to be one of their spokespeople once she’d registered, but the rest of them had avoided the press… until now.
Now that SHRA was gone. Now that they were all back together again.
It was a great way to show the world that the heroes were heroes again.
Everyone was quietly ignoring Norman Osborn and his Thunderbolts for the moment, though Eli knew that there were several people who were taking bets on when that would go up like a fireworks factory.
A tiny part of Eli was looking forward to the interview. It was fun to watch Billy and Teddy banter with Ms. Farrell, who was obviously as much a fangirl as those two were fanboys. The interviews with her had proven to be surprisingly enjoyable, even if Farrell did have a certain pit bull like quality.
She was going to ask some hard questions, but Eli knew that he and the rest of the team were ready for them.
The door to the interview room opened, and in stepped Sally Floyd.
Without a word, Eli stood up and walked out of the room, not even acknowledging the woman’s presence. He didn’t have to look to know that the others were filing out after him.
