“You wanna get something to eat after this?” Billy suggested to Teddy, just a little timidly, as he locked up his bike. He was watching the blond through his eyelashes while pretending to be concentrating on the lock, silently praying for… something. Mostly that he wouldn’t make an ass out of himself. Teddy looked at him, shrugging off his jacket and tying it around his waist.
“Okay, but what’s gonna be open?” Teddy asked. “Or do you wanna just get sandwiches at a bodega or something?”
With a relieved exhalation, Billy started to explain that he’d actually found this 24 Hour Indian place when Nate approached, pointedly clearing his throat. Billy felt a blush rise up his neck, spreading quickly to his face as he reached into his satchel. “Iron Lad, hey. I’ve got some of those sketches for my costume, and I was wondering if you could give me a hand with the headgear? I’m pretty sure I can get everything else myself, cause I found this guy, he does super-hero costumes? And he said he could make mine for a reasonable price, but this…” He shrugged.
Teddy peered over Billy’s shoulder to look at the crude sketches. “These are pretty good. I like the one with the cape.”
Billy blushed harder, and Nate rolled his eyes.
