Jono nudged Angelo aside and pulled down his scarf, blowing the lock with the slightest flicker of his power. Angelo whispered a prayer and followed Jono into the darkened church. “This is so wrong.”
We’re stopping some extra dimensional beastie from eating a Sunday School class, Jono pointed out. How is that wrong?
“Because we’re breaking in to and stealing from a church. A Catholic church,” he added, as if it made what they were doing a hundred times worse.
I was raised Church of England, so according to the Catholics, I’m going to hell anyway. Found it, Jono announced. Help me get this damn thing off the wall.
“Don’t swear in a church,” Angelo hissed.
