It says a lot about the situation when Jamie Braddock’s suggestion sounds the most reasonable, Jono mused. It says nothing good, but it says a lot.
“Right now, it’s the best we’ve got,” Brian Braddock said grimly. “I don’t like this any more than you do-”
It’d be bloody hard to like it any less, Jono snapped. I’m supposed to be retired, not that you lot have ever given one ripe fart about that, and everything I’ve made for myself is being threatened, and our best solution has come from your nutter of a brother, who caused this in the first place! Why can’t you be like other posh families and keep in locked in the attic?
“If you think that would help, feel free to try,” Pete Wisdom suggested with a phlegmy cough. “Just give me enough time to sell tickets first.”
