Bobby’s chest looked like someone had reached in and ripped his heart right own, then filled much of the flesh and muscle back in. Zeke knew for a fact that Bobby had done just that to himself, but he felt like he was the one who had done it, with his own two hands.
In a way, he had.
Zeke had picked the one person who would hurt Bobby the most, and he’d slept with him. He could make excuses about being drunk and angry, but he’d just wanted to get some kind of real, emotional reaction out of his lover. Benji had just been a means to an end.
And by God, he’d gotten what he wanted, along with a heart in a box.
Zeke had always known that Bobby was emotionally damaged, but that went above and beyond anything he had expected.
He never wanted anything like that to happen again.
