There, laid out in front of Rupert Giles, was all the evidence of a wasted youth. Looking back, he was indcredibly glad that he’d never gone for any of the more outrageous tattoos and piercings he saw on children these days. He picked up one of the photos, plucking his glasses off as he inspected it.
In the picture, he had his arms around Ethan, and was smirking at the camera like the cat who had gotten into the cream. He was wearing a spiky dog collar around his neck, and plaid pants. “Dear Lord,” he sighed.
He’d been so happy back then. He hadn’t known better, hadn’t lost any friends to the powers he and Ethan were meddling with. Not when this picture had been taken.
And clearly, he’d been on some incredibly powerful drugs if he’d thought that he’d looked good dressed like that.
Rupert exhaled slowly and swept the pictures back into the shoe box they had spent the last several years in. Back they would go, into the back of the closet, to gather dust and hopefully be forgotten.
