Monet took one look at the twins, announced that she was bored, and flounced out of the room. Her father just smiled indulgently, as he was well aware that his daughter - his eldest daughter - could not stand not being the center of everyone’s attention.
“Buy her a new pony and she’ll forget all about it,” Marius said disdainfully. “Which one is which?”
“Nichole is the one in yellow, and Claudette is the one in pink. And there will be no switching of their colors, am I clear? You are their brother, and it is your duty to protect them.”
“Yeah, sure,” Marius muttered, leaning over the bassinette.
