Paras was still looking at the list of birthdays, his skin as pale as it ever got (thus leaving him a pale lavender) as Victor lead him to his room.
"I’m going to die," the purple mutant murmured. "Some crazy person is going to kill me to make a statement. I’m going to end up crucified on the front lawn."
"You’re not going to die," Victor said gently. "I mean, it’s not like you’re actually the youngest mutant. There’s Tito."
"He doesn’t count."
"Says who?" Victor asked, steering Paras towards the bed. "Besides, anyone who wants to get to you has to go through me. And I kick ass."
Paras rolled his eyes, letting his head rest on Victor’s shoulder. "Right."
"I do! Dr. McCoy let me blow Santo up today. He took pictures and everything. And I’ll do the same to anyone who tries to hurt you." Victor’s normal hand crept up, his fingers catching in Paras’ hair.
"Promises, promises," Paras sighed.
