“Kitty? Honey?” Wally tapped on his daughter’s bedroom door, one ear pressed against the crack. He could hear her crying. He turned the knob and peered in warily. “Kitten?”
She was curled up on the far corner of her bed, trying to muffle her sobs with a pillow. Wally stepped inside, shutting the door behind him. “Honey, what’s wrong?”
“I just want to be normal,” Kitty whimpered. “I want to be able to go out and do stuff and not have to worry about being kidnapped by terrorists or aliens. I want to be able to bring someone home and not have them go all fanboy! I want to be like everyone else! Is that so much to ask?”
Wally put an arm around his daughter, pulling her close. “I know you do, honey.”
