More than anything at that moment, as Brin Londo watched his father at the mercy of his creations, he wanted to rip the old man’s throat out. He could almost taste the salty, hot blood flooding his mouth. He wanted to dig his claws deep into the treacherous old man’s flesh and tear out his black, withered heart. He wanted to give in to his rage and make his betrayer pay.
But he knew, deep in the very core of his being, that to do that would be to let the animal hold sway. There would be no going back. He would become the monster his father wanted.
And Brin Londo would sooner rip out his own guts than give the old man that victory.
