“She’s out there,” Agamemnon said, twitching a curtain slightly to peer into the darkness outside. “She’s just waiting for me to lower my guard, and then she’ll come swooping in like a bat out of hell.”
“Don’t you think you’re overreacting a little?” his roommate asked.
The short man snorted. “You don’t know Momma. She’s… she… gaaah, you just have no idea what it’s like to have her hovering over you all the fucking time, disapproving and sarcastic and…agh!” He scraped his hands through his dark hair and shook his head.
“Sounds like you.”
