“C’mon, give it!” Molly wheedled, jumping frantically into the air in an attempt to capture the present Tommy held tantalizingly out of her reach.
The white haired speedster smirked, darting the package just out of Molly’s reach once again. “I dunno…” he drawled. “I don’t think I should. After all, you’re practically 13… I think maybe that’s too old for this.”
“Gimme!” Molly demanded, making another frantic leap after the ever moving gift.
“Mmm… nope.”
“Please?” Molly asked, turning her very best sad puppy look on Tommy. “Please, Tommy?”
Tommy looked at the brightly wrapped box, then at the girl. He juggled it from hand to hand, watching her wide blue eyes follow it eagerly. Finally, with agonizing slowness, he allowed her to snatch it from his hands. The superstrong mutant made short work of the cardboard and wrapping paper, and she held up the daisy shaped hat for close inspecting. With a little squeal of glee, she swiftly replaced the dog hat on her head with the daisy, then pounced on Tommy, planting a kiss on his cheek. The speedster gave her his most powerful ‘ew’ look, scrubbing at the spot with his hand.
“Can we go blow stuff up now?” Molly asked, bouncing like an eager puppy.
“It sounds like a brilliant plan to me,” Tommy said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
