It wasn’t supposed to be a long, slow meander through the perils of aching joints and failing eyesight, and being called ‘Grandfather’ and ‘Old Man’.
He was the last of them now. Temari had met her death in true ninja fashion, surrounded by the bodies of her enemies, and Garaa’s body, long abused by Shukaku in his youth, had finally given out on its own while the Kazekage was still fairly young. Barely into his forties.
And now it was just Kankuro, waiting for the end.
