It took a light touch to keep a puppet in working order. The puppets were tough, but keeping them in top shape took a lot of work. The gears and joints and traps needed constant looking after.
Kankuro loved it. It was, in his oppinion, the second best part of being a puppeteer. There was a simple pleasure in working with his hands that couldn't be matched. This was his art. More than fighting and killing, this was his shinobi way.
He was a creator. He was a puppeteer.
And Temari was going to find a scorpian in her bed if she ever again suggested he was playing with dolls.
