Insomnia. Jonothon Starsmore couldn’t sleep. This wasn’t such an unusual condition for him. He didn’t need to sleep, really. But there was a kind of comfort in it.
That comfort eluded him tonight. He was restless, mind clogged with uncomfortable thoughts.
For someone without a hint of telepathy, Victor was very good at telling when someone wanted to talk to him, and avoiding them.
And Jono did want to talk to Victor. He wasn’t sure what about, exactly, but he wanted to talk.
Maybe to assure the boy that he wasn’t totally repulsed by the lust he felt. Maybe that Jono was still perfectly willing to be Victor’s friend, like Angelo-
The telepath stopped that thought dead. He was not going to think about Angelo. Not in conjuncture with this.
He needed to get out and think.
Throwing on some clothes, he made his escape towards his hollow. He paused in his flight, turning back towards the school. Did he catch a green face in a window?
A cautious probe found Victor’s restless mine, and Jono dropped an invitation there.
We need to talk, squire. You know where to find me.
