He’d been missing for almost five months, and it was like he’d dropped off the face of the Earth. Network had been able to track him to the jail, but after that…
“There are records of him,” she had assured him, “but they’re behind some serious protection. They need a little finessing before they’ll let me in.”
All he could do was wait.
He missed Jono. He missed listening to his observations on the other people at the school, he missed the way the sunlight brought out the auburn highlights in his dark hair, he missed the way the psi-fire changed color with his mood…
Victor blinked as a shadow fell over him. He sat up and looked at Network, who had an unusually grim _expression on her face. “Sarah?”
“I found him.”
