Summary: Sequel to Days of Wonder.
Don’t open your eyes, Eddie told himself. Don’t move, don’t let him know you’re awake. He kept himself from doing more than twitching as Zatara ran his hands over his skin. The magician’s breath was cool against his overheated flesh, and his hands were wonderfully cold.
And his lips… oh God, his lips!
It was, he knew, wrong. It was right there in the Bible, about not lying with another man. Blue Devil would not approve.
He couldn’t seem to help it. Zatara’s lips were on his, and he could feel the other boy’s tongue brush his mouth. He grabbed Zatara’s head, fingers catching in the blue-black curls, and sucked his tongue into his mouth. Eddie heard Zat’s grunt of protest and ignored it. He pressed his body against the other boy, only releasing his mouth when it occurred to Eddie that they both needed to breathe.
Zatara’s mouth worked soundlessly, as it had since the Phantasm had taken his voice. Eddie didn’t say anything.
They stared at each other in the dark.
