Zatara stood at the threshold of his room and inhaled deeply, trying to trample down his frustration with Raven. She’d been giving him a knowing look ever since his return from New Azerath with Eddie.
But she didn’t know. She couldn’t know. He hadn’t told anyone, and Eddie wouldn’t tell.
And still she gave him that look.
He marched over to the window, flinging it open and glaring at the alien garden below. Starfire’s garden, faithfully tended by the other Titans. He inhaled deeply, the exotic scents of plants from a planet he would never see filling him up. He whispered a single word, and invocation.
“Eidde…”
