And I thought I was being partially cynical when I originally posted about the no cussing club but my instincts are sharply tuned to things that seem quite a bit off.
My friend Alex had sent me a link from encyclopedia dramatica. This link is not safe for work, considering it contains lots of swearing and the occasional pornographic ad.

In summery the entry is an exagerated descriptio of the No Cussing Club with one illuminating bit of information. Apparently his father charges 800 dollars per appearence plus expenses, thus the article concludes that its "just a fucking scam". I feel that sentament but, a part of me respects the father for being able to pimp the system. His son gets to fly around getting national exposure, and some will obviously be too positively minded to realize that "its just a scam" allowing him some form of credibility.
I guess in the end many things are just feel like scams -things with little to no benefit for their monetary value. As I keep thinking about it I realize it does have value to him and his son, they get their pay day. Thus makes another shinning example of a system that is fucked. But what to do about said system? Do whatever it is you can and hope that people will wake up and smell the coffee? Or just give up and embrace hedonism as a modus operandi? Or just be Zen? Deeper into the rabbit hole I go.
