A Cortizone Chemical Burn (Is Not Why My Hand is Scarred)
A brief query to the big old silent world: do you forgive and forget, or some combination thereof (that is, do you forgive and not forget, or forget and not forgive)? I forgive but don’t forget, yet I’d prefer people to either do both or forget my trespasses. Then again, preference and reality rarely come into synch (unless your expectations are uncharacteristically low.)
My paper on Zentropa (Von Trier, 1991) goes sluggishly. I’d rather write about the use of color in this film as opposed to time, as color is a much broader and much more interesting topic (as the one interesting use of time, the repeated hypnotist/narrator device, is interesting, but not 7-pages interesting.)
I’d like to play games, despite not having enough time in my schedule to play games. I’d be all up for a nice game of Scrabble, or, if I were in a particularly nerdy mood, D&D (he says this half-mockingly, much like asking a girl for a three-way, so you can laugh it off if it crashes and burns.)
I think I’m going through an existential-type crisis as of late. Why? Because all the hip kids are doing it, of course. Actually, I think it’s a combination of my tiny room, my busy friends, and my ability to spend days without interacting with humanity other in a “smile and nod” sort of way. Oh, and my 7-8 page papers on totally moronic and oversimplified subject matters of film theory (deconstructivism my right foot.)
Should I be a summer RA? I’m considering it, because it’d mean I’d have a place to live next year (summer RA’s are apparently "practically guaranteed" an RA position in the fall, and I could stand the housing/job,) and I could definitely stand to get some extra units during the summer while being an over-glorified babysitter. Let’s just say I’m definitely considering it.

While I’m thinking about it: See the bee. The bee is a busy bee, see? (Referencing a children’s book I read as a kid called “C D B” which used a similar scheme.)]
