Cathars = Mermaids

Dec 05, 2005 19:04

Now a warning, this post won't make any sense to people with no medieval history grounding...

so I will attempt to provide a little bit of background for the laymen (and women) reading this...

Cathars: a heretical group found in France and Italy during the 12th and 13th century whose prime tenants included dualism and the belief that the material world is completely the work of the devil

Manichees: a religious group found in late antiquity which believed in dualism etc... A forbearer to Catharism

ok, lets get started on proving that Cathars = Mermaids!!!

Cathars (a dualist christian sect) = Manichees ( a dualist pagan sect)= Manatees (a large sea Mammal) = Mermaids (a mythological half woman half fish creature which sailors often mistook Manatees)

therefore, Cathars = Mermaids...

that is all
