Skiing between the clouds

I LOVE SKIING OUT WEST.

With that out of the way, here is a some more depth to the observation.

Today Started off as a clear day, which was sweet as yesterday was basically a whiteout after lunch. Really hard to see anything. While the day on the mountain seemed clear clouds formed all around the mountain, so that at one point I was standing on the top of the backside (not as high as the front) and the sun shown down in an open circle in a giant cloud, with the light hitting the top of the hill, it seemed perfect for some movie. What was really cool was that I could look across and see that the valley and smaller hills were being covered in low clouds, and there was a cloud that just barely touched the top of the front side of the mountain, so that I was in a space between to clouds. It felt kinda surreal to be skiing between the clouds like that.

After skiing we shopped in the little ski hill's stores for half an hour. I got Chris' gift and part of Igor's. Plus a shirt for myself.

Driving home was sketchy. There is about half an hour to forty five minutes of driving between the hill and my relatives house were we are staying. The road is winding down the mountain, with no guardrails, barely big enough for two vans, and has no marking for the side of the road. Plus for the first bit my aunt was driving, untill she went straight for a trucks headlights, and after just missing them admitted that her night eyesight wasn't so good. It was completely dark by then. Needless to say my dad took over driving after that. While faster it was much more comforting NOT to swerve TOWARDS every oncoming headlight.

Yesterday driving home was a bit worse, as we drove through a thick cloud at night, and even with headlights you could only see two feet in front of the van. So it was down a very windy road with several 180 degree turns in it, with no markings for the side of the road at all, and no guardrails, that always had a cliff on one side of it, that we went. Needless to say it was nerve racking. And my Aunt was driving, as it was her car, and there was no oncoming traffic so we didn't really notice the constant turning towards it. So today I was really thankful that we manage to make it down last night.
