I went down to IHOP today to see what the staffing sitution was like. Paul (the general manager) was on vacation but Alex said that they need somebody - probably a host, but I might be able to wrangle a server position. If I can get onboard as a server I'll have a chance at being upgraded to crew chief, which will then allow me to apply for assistant manager positions in stores - which is good, because then I'll have a chance at getting to work at a game store or a wacko place like Spencer Gifts.
I followed up at Trader Joe's, which means that I might actually get called in for an interview, but they had a four-inch stack of applications, so I'm not going to get my hopes up. I didn't get the job at Express because I couldn't provide a second reference... bleh. I guess I just have to keep going.
In other news, Lara is online for the first time since I got home. Yay!
