Things Accomplished: Office Shenanigans

Oct 20, 2008 22:30

I got a message from the boss's assistant during the day. She asked if it was possible to reschedule my meeting with the boss tomorrow because he is scheduled to be in a farewell lunch for a co-worker who is leaving. The boss reports that the lunch has been scheduled during our regular meeting time and, unfortunately, he'll be in Hawaii for the rest of the week (poor him, right?). "Would it be possible", he asks, "for us to meet tomorrow afternoon?" This is bearing in mind, of course that he is extremely busy so we can only met for 30 minutes.
FYI Boss-man... I am hardly ever in the office during the afternoon on Monday through Wednesday because I am at our study sites. This is not a new schedule so it is a little irritating to be asked if I am free during that time. What is even more annoying is that
1) I know there is no lunch 'scheduled' during our meeting time because I know that the employee who is leaving is scheduled to be in a conference call with our research team in LA during the 'lunch'
2) Your assistant also forwarded me the message in which you told her that, apparently, I "MIGHT WANT TO BAKE A CAKE" for this 'lunch'. His reasoning, "SHE OFTEN DOES" (sic with capslock)

How awesome is my job?
If you answered 'not at all' you are correct.
