Thanks! I hope so too. I haven't signed up yet--I need to take time for deciding and then writing the requests, and a letter as well. Luckily, the signup period is I think two weeks long.
I'm not actually sure how well my sensibilities mesh with the general nightonficmountain crowd. But then, I can't really judge from just the first day or two of signups. Hopefully other people like me will be stumbling in sometime.
Unfortunately, given the rules, I'm really not sure what to do about Almost Human. The rules are that you *must* offer at least two tags from a fandom's nominated set. And the person who nominated AH only nominated these tags:
Relationship: Dorian/John Kennex Relationship: Dorian/John Kennex/Richard Paul Relationship: Dorian/Richard Paul Relationship: John Kennex/Richard Paul Relationship: Richard Paul/MX-43
Which means that if my first offered tag is the Dorian/John relationship, my second offered tag will have to be one of the remaining ones, which are all relationships featuring Richard Paul. Whiiiiich, eh.
Now, granted, it's OR matching, so the rule is stories must feature "one or more of the characters or relationships they requested." As opposed to Yuletide where it's required you include everybody who's requested. So technically I could offer Dorian/John and Richard/MX, then just write Dorian/John even if my recip requested both.
But looking at the one person who's requested AH so far (I really like that feature of this challenge; the prompts are all visible from the get-go), she really seems interested in Richard being majorly involved somehow, even if not in a major-character-threesome. So although it's OR matching, and Optional Details Are Optional, I think I might feel a little mean if I just ignored Richard entirely. Which means I gotta think hard about how willing I am to involve Richard (and to research him! I didn't do much Richard-centric viewing in my previous canon reviews).
I can't entirely rule out coming up with something that (I'd hope) might satisfy us both--but I'm not yet sure. Hmm.
Hmmmm, yeah, I see the dilemma. I haven't had any Richard-centric viewing, either, but I seem to recall he wasn't quite as aggressive as the series went on? Maybe that's my AH nostalgia talking.
It seems possible! I tried to remember, but I just couldn't put my finger on where he ended up. So I'll rewatch the last ep or two this week, and see if there was more non-bully characterization I'd feel like getting my id around.
