I know this will amuse shock all of you, but this year for Yuletide I got to write I Spy!:
Walking and Falling (6557 words) by
DorindaFandom:
I Spy (1965)Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Alexander Scott, Kelly Robinson
Summary:
Left knee going. Ribs not so good either. Old and tired, and backing a partner who trusted him. Now what?
I enjoyed writing this very much (also shocking, I'm sure). And it was another stab at the late-career problem for Kelly, whose cover identity is so physically demanding on top of the physically punishing job.
As Kainosite observed in her comment on the story, it's a cover with a short shelf life. The show never touched on what the Department might have planned for Kelly afterward if anything; given how they tended to treat him, I doubt they had anything good in mind, and they'd certainly be content with him living in denial as he drove himself into the ground. Scotty, however, would not.
(Also, in a followup to
this post, the author of the wonderful Peacemakers story I got this year was
arduinna! AND THUS THE SLOW-MO PEACEMAKERS ROUND ROBIN CONTINUES. :D )
