(no subject)
wish i were camping right now.... woo!
anyway.... so last night in my firefighter class we did a "confidence corse". basiclly a huge obstacle corse you have to go through dressed in your turnout gear breathing with your airpack.... it was hard, but i made it through with plenty of air left in my tank. woo! ...BUT... there was a part where we had to drag a charged 2 1/2" hoseline.... the gloves i was wearing made it hard to grip the nozzle... then it slipped from my hands and the nozzle smashed my foot through my bunker coot. OW! it still really hurts. i can't lift my big toe upward without a huge pain. waaa! but i can bend it down, so i don't think anything is broken. :)
yet, i will still whine about how much it hurts...
anyway tonight we have to find our way through the station in the dark with our gear, and find "bodies". woo! at least it is being held at our station tonight... i know the map of it, so it should be much easier than for the other station's firefighters.... woo!
oh yea, also being in this class i get to see how much our department rocks. cause out gear is sooo much more modern than theirs. they call our air packs starwars airpacks... they have all sorts of fancy safety devices on it and it makes cool sounds when you take out the air bottle or put one in.... and it takes about 10 seconds to change the air, as opposed to the minute or so of the other tanks. woo! peru FD rocks!
