Doing Better
Today is a better day than yesterday. Today is also Thanksgiving AND my Birthday. Double feature, yay!
I gave Kea some cash from the account yesterday, and told her she could go shopping for Mommy's birthday with Julie (the lady/our friend who is watching Kea). I told her she could pay, too. She was -so- thrilled!!!! She brought her purse, and Julie kept an eye on her, so that the money wouldn't get taken from her, nor would the purse (c'mon, she's only four, and people are crazy!). She had a great time, and felt so grown-up!!! :) I got my present today, and it was so sweet. She got me a light-up cozy bear, and a bunch of flowers (plastic daisies; I'm going to put them in a vase and keep them forever). She got me a card, too, and traced her little hand in it. *sniffle* They grow so fast. It was so cool to let her go and pick out something for me and to see what she came up with.
I'm almost done with Christmas shopping, too, thank goodness. I work tomorrow, so no venturing out into Black Friday for me. Ugh. I can just see me, all pregnant and grumpy and fighting crowds. No thanks!
Well, I have to finish making the mashed potatoes and get going to our holiday dinner with out neighbors (there are three women [I'm one] whose husbands are deployed who are getting together to do the Turkey Day feast :D). I am making homemade, real mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes. I've already donated the turkey; we didn't know about the meal until after we'd already bought the turkey, so we figured we might as well. We got a good size turkey too; 20 pounds. What? I wanted leftovers! :)
