Why Inclusionary Language Matters, a post from this ain't livin', which is rapidly becoming one of my favourite blogs.
Anyway, this gets at the reasons behind my decision to (as those of you who have me on FaceBook might have seen) drop a few words from my vocabulary, those words being 'crazy', 'insane', and 'lunacy'. Because they're ableist, and as someone who is concerned with being anti-oppressive to the greatest extent I am able, it was really bizarre and indefensible that I used them as often as I did.
