Fanfic asks

A meme I stole from tumblr. And since I seem to be really curious about this type of thing at the moment, I decided to post it. And I know I don't have a huge amount of LJ friends, but I'm leaving the post open so feel free to direct people here because, like I said, curious.
PS, You don't have to answer all questions if you don't want to.( Read more... )

Ha, yes, fic the faith procrastinating, and that Birthday Bandwagon thing at capslock turtle, and the second part of my MatsuKame fic - seriously it's a lot of procrastinating :(

songkissed also wrote quite a few Akame fics too that are also good. She's not into the pairing anymore though.

I hate having to warn for stuff, because I feel like it gives away (some of) the story. But at the same time, I understand why they are important for some people.

I'm generally on the side of overwarning for stuff, but you could always ljspoiler warnings or make them highlight to read, so that people who need them can read them, but people who don't care or like to be surprised don't get spoiled.

You are quite lucky if you've only come across non-con masquerading as fluff/romance once. If you browse through fanficrants (fanficrants.livejournal.com) it's a common complaint and I know I've seen it more than once in Akame and other J&A fic (that's when being bored and giving anything a go usually comes back to bite you on the arse). I think it's also a trope that comes from anime/manga fandoms too (there seems to be quite a lot of overlap between J-pop/anime fandoms)- I'm not really into them myself but from what I've read around a lot of them have strong, seme/uke dynamics and the uke is very rarely shown to be enjoying themselves.

Yes, it seems no one likes High School fics >.< I tend to like high school dramas (or high-school age), but I don't read HS fic really. I think the college setting is better because they are just that little bit older. Same. Especially when the fic is porny. Like, I know teenagers have sex, but that still doesn't mean I particularly want to read about them doing it.

That's a lot of fic going on :O

Lucky, or, my selection process naturally filters out anything that includes stuff like that. Or maybe a bit of both. I agree about the overlap between anime/j-pop. Personally, I was never really into anime or manga, so maybe this also contributed to the fact I have only seen it once.
