2004, I'm ready for MORE!

Last year at this time I was living it up in NYC. This year, I'm hanging out with people I have become close friends with, most of whom I hadn't even met a year ago. It's amazing the tricks time can play on my mind. Although my trip to the Big Apple last year seems like a month ago, I am amazed at all the pain, excitment, and accomplishments crammed into this year, and the amazing people who I met along the way....

Now, in some sort of order...

It was the year of the Guy Fast.  Who could forget my crazy idea to wean myself off boy craziness for 3 months.

It was the year of Josh. Yes, he gets his own category. Although things didn't work out with us, he showed me the meaning of friendship and all the pains and joys within.

It was the year of the Patriots. Being stuck in Virginia again, I hosted my own party, and rubbed the victory in the faces of all those Panthers fans! If you know me, you know I don't know the first thing about football, but I like to brag about my Boston roots whenever I can!

It was the year of the Graduation. Yes, I survived four years of college and even got a cool degree in Public Relations and Advertising! I made my mark on Virginia. Or maybe it made its mark on me....Hmm. Lburg, I will always love you, even though you are the biggest hick town I've ever been to! :-) I miss those mountains....

It was the year of Lola the Corolla. My first ever brand new car, courtesy of my grandparents sacrificial giving over the past 22 years! They were poor, but they selflessly gave each of us grandkids savings bonds over the years, and I had enough to purchase my first piece of property, and quite possibly my most cherished material gift! :-D

It was the year of the camping trip.  That Fourth of July camping trip was the start of so many things, as well as the ending of that other thing..... :-/   I'll choose to remember the fun things: my brother and his goofy potato gun, the beauty of Bar Harbor at dusk, the infamous RV, so much more.

It was the year of OBX.  Outer Banks is beautiful. Beth is awesome for taking the 22 hour trek to N.C. with me. Josh and his friends are awesome for inviting us along. I'm gonna choose to not focus on the Real World-esque drama that occured in the beach house, and instead remember Kittyhawk, the beach, off-roading, the 7 foot wave I rode (booya!), and my very first bikini top.

It was the year of the Crush. Yeah. I've written about it enough. It ate away more than 3 months of my life. Ugh.

It was the year of the Funeral.  I will always remember my grandmother as the best role model I've had thus far. I love her so much. I miss her. I want her back.

It was the year of the Red Sox. 8 straight game nights at Eric's house. The group was together. We had so much fun. Milling around with all the crazy celebrators in Somerville was hilarious. Even the cops were high-fiving us.

It was the year of the temp jobs. Having a temp job is like having your first day of work every time you work. It sucks, but it helped me through my 6 month post-grad job search. I got a lot of great office experience, and worked for several good companies. I was so relieved when it was over last week...

It was the year of the Wedding. It was a lot of fun visiting Lburg again and being a part of my dear Jennifer's wedding. It reminds me that we're all growing up. We're actually in the adult world now!

It was the year of the GREAT NEW JOB. Yes, I finally got hired last month, and started my first day on Tuesday! I love Clear Channel, and I'm so glad to be working for such a big advertising giant. I'm excited to see what 2005 has in store for me there...

This journal has been a big help to me. Sometimes it helps to get out all my random thoughts. It keeps my writing somewhat creative, and allows me to have some sort of web presence on the web. I am thankful for my readers and fellow journalers. Don't be afraid to contact me if you need to talk.

God has been faithful to me this year through every circumstance. I have grown and stretched in many new directions, I have had valleys and mountains in my path. Through it all, He has proved His love for me. May God richly bless you this coming year!
