So, as anyone who's seen my Facebook knows, we got a new apartment. We haven't moved into it yet (that's on Monday), but we've already toured the whole building, gotten the lease, gotten the keys, paid our first month and a half's rent, and so on, so barring anything major happening with our background check there shouldn't be any problems. A lot of the building is condos, but apparently they have 1/3rd set aside as rental apartments, which is substantial enough that there shouldn't be a giant stigma against renters (we hope).
Anyway, on to the good points. I thought there was a private beach originally (that's how it was described to me), and while the beach isn't private, there is a private deck facing the beach and a private entrance to the beach. Laundry and trash collection are in the building; there's extra storage on the premises too that we get for free, or at least I think so; heat, water and basic cable are all included in the rent, which is only $850/month; it's 2 blocks from the Thorndale L stop, 3 blocks from an Ethiopian restaurant, 6 blocks from a grocery store and 8 blocks from an Asian grocery store. Also, checking a bit more, it looks like there's a bunch of restaurants on Bryn Mawr just a bit south.
I'm ridiculously excited. Now, of course, I just need to find a job...
