Starman episode 8
Sawa at the time, is talking with Shigetas' wife and takes her to eat saying she can order whatever she wants. Wife becomes cooperative. And orders bunch of food! HA! Hoshio and Shigeta-san are at Setsus' bar and talking using telepathy being one inch from eachother. She has to tell them to back off of cause they are lookin' like... Yunno! They don't get it till she says it is not looking natural cause humans don't talk like that. They want to talk but conversation would draw attention. For sure cause Forest trio, or should they be called Nosy radar, are watching every move. Setsu suggests using ocean, island and ship instead of space, planet and spaceship. Hoshio asks some questions we already know, Shigeta-san is away from "island" for 40 years, his "ship" crashed and he doesn't intent to go back for feeling of duty to his family. On the other hand we find out that Hoshios' "ship" is at the bottom of the lake(where Tatsuya went), it malfunctioned in the "ocean" and he has some unfinished business at "island". Forest trio suggest getting ship out with their equipment. Lol and Aww! Sawa wants to know as much as possible. wife tells her that since they get old like people it is ok. Besides she doesn't know any law that states they can't be together. It is funny how older woman doesn't care about calling her husband "alien" in public. She has something to caution Sawa about and drags her to terrace to tell. We don't hear it but UFOShoko happens to see older woman holding Sawas' hands. At bar Shigeta-san cautions Hoshio that he is more fit than people around so he has to be careful. Other than that this place is really nice and good for them to stay. But one thing he has to take care about and they revert to telepathy so we don't hear about it.
At home Hoshio and Sawa talk about day happenings while sitting on the porch. She says that she liked Shigetas' wife and thinks if it is possible for them to do what they did. Maybe we can get few more kids. Hoshio seems surprised and so am i. Seven?! Are you serious? She backpedals and they continue with cute. Though when they enter room little Shun is sleeping on the bed so they have to sleep on kids each side. Next day on work, eye conversation is still on while chef again tries to make them talk. They ignore him. I think Shigeta-san is getting more open with people. UFOShoko starts talking in front of everyone that she was thinking Shigeta-san was alien for her but maybe there is another one. She stands by Sawa and looks at her pointedly buy luckily it is time for opening so they have to work. After Sawa is alone outside so Shoko comes to bother her saying that Hoshio actually came for her. Isn't it obvious? They are similar age. She messes with Sawas' head by saying how animals think that first one they see is their mother and that is why Hoshio is attached with her, he saw her first. This girl deserves good beating. Granny is sitting on her usual spot and when Hoshio comes to join her and sees she is petting cat who is sporting big open wound on the side. He thinks for second, remembering how Shigeta-san told him to be careful. But it looks really painful so he takes kitty and heals her. Granny thinks his power is kind of scary but thanks him in the cats' name anyway. Setsu bought huge machine for talking to aliens but only manages to attract customers with it. Sawa is having headache and when brings her little boy home, she sees whole family watching some show. Hoshio notices she is not feeling well but she insists it is fine and wants to hear it. When they explain it is about dog not having mom so monkey takes care for him. It reminds her of what UFOShoko said and she gets irritated and forbids family to watch anything like that any more. Dai calls her on being irrational and she apologizes. He hands her medicine saying she should relax. UFOShoko wanders into Setsus' bar after Setsu accidentally maxes machine. Doctor that treated Hoshio is there. He came after visiting Granny and she get him not to retire. In the bar he remembers Shoko and tells her about when she was young she was clinicaly dead but then came alive. She rushes home to find one of those UFO papers saying that 25 years ago meteor was seen falling in the town. She is alien?! That is a surprise! I thought she was just a fanatic. Sawa is having trouble sleeping with her headache. Granny explains to Hoshio that it happens sometimes. In other room kids are making doll for her to feel better. Hoshio is watching Sawa and can't stand to look at her being in pain so he does healing thing and she is fine. Later she opens her eyes and sees doll besides her. It makes her smile. But then she notices Hoshio sitting on the floor exhausted and realizes what he did. We finally see what Shigetas' wife cautioned her about, it is that they can help people but that in exchange it inflicts damage on themselves. The bigger person it is, the bigger damage they will feel. Wife was once really ill and Shigeta-san healed her but then he felt so bad that she thunk he will die. Hoshio tries to hide what he did. She tells him not to do it anymore feeling really bad to see him being like that. She continues to go around room doing unnecessary things and finally admits thinking she was mom monkey. He fiercely says he likes her for real but that does little to calm her. She actually has to order herself to calm down and enjoy things. She takes her new doll and packs her in one of two boxes already full of dolls! Awww! That is so cute. But so sad, since she was alone trough so many headaches. Dai is in other room, he overheard some parts and does not look happy.
Somehow as Sawa said Hoshio seems like he is forcing himself and with his "unfinished business" out there i am not feeling like he wants to stay as much as he
is saying. That is not to say he wants to go for i think he really does like Sawa and kids. Just that it seems he was not so relaxed about it as when he found that Sawa lied to him. On the other hand Sawa seems not so sure about everything any more. Girl is loosing her smile more and more every episode. And it should not be like that cause two of them are fantastic together!
UFOShoko being alien caught me by surprise. I tried to give her as little brain space as possible so deemed her as fanatic without second thought. Who knew there actually is explanation for her. Too bad it is not excuse for being b....!
What i liked was how they put that if aliens use their powers to help people, they are damaging self. So it is actually choosing someone over themselves. Hoshio helping Sawa besides everything he will have to suffer through is really cute and shows his care for her. Also i love how when she said her headache is not much he continued to observe her worriedly! Never enough of these two.
