Starman episode 1
This is SO CUTE! I am fan of realistic romance and logic and everything but when you have this much charismatic people with good story i don't ask and swallow it like chocolate pudding!
Now It all begins with Sawa(Hirosue Ryoko), single mom of three cute boys: Dai, Hide and Shun! In her household she is head of the family and her Grandma is helping her to take care of the boys and home! It is common story so Sawa is strong woman who doesn't complain! On the way to leave her youngest kid Shun she passes by young guy in suit who we saw before on the train station! He didn't look too happy and had a lot of unanswered calls and messages! He just trow phone in the garbage right with his jacket! This doesn't look good!
After leaving kid in the kinder garden Sawa goes to work! She is working in the market making already cooked meals! Her co-workers are bunch of good-natured but chatty old women, one quiet older man Shigeta-san, nosy chef and two youngsters! One youngster is bored girl Sachiko and the other is Ando(Yuki Yamada<3)! Ando obviously likes Sachiko but she is looking him like everything else, with boredom! Though later they go out together so i suppose they are couple!
Sawa is returning from work and she comes home with her adorable kid! After dinner Grandma says she will take care of the kids and Sawa goes out to the Snack bar where her high school friend Setsu works! There are usual guests and one is EXILEs' Kenchi! He is in love with Setsu but is too shy ask her out! Other likes Sawa but says that he wouldn't ask her out because of her temper! And other guy comments that her husband is worthless but what if he returns! She is ready for him all right!
Mysterious suit guy went on the river and lies in the boat, he obviously swallowed whole bottle of pills and is waiting to die! Sawa is returning home! Ando and Bored Sachiko are in the car and he is calling motels! Suddenly light shows on the night sky and it looks like shooting star is going to hit suit guy! We don't see what happened with him but Bored Sachiko looks alive for the first time in this episode! Sawa thinking it is nagareboshi prays for nice man to appear!
Next day Sawa takes little guy from kindergarden! They are singing till little guy falls asleep so Sawa stumbles to turn off the radio and when she looks up guy is walking on the road! Iiik! She pushes the break on time and car stops couple of inches from guys leg! Sawa angrily comes out of the car asking guy if he is suicidal but he just turns looking at her with blank expression! He just looks at her so she becomes uncomfortable and just like that guy faints!
At Uno home Doctor comes and says guy doesn't know anything about himself but if physically fine! Sawa wants to know when will he remember but doctor says that he could have other life and never remembers and continues to flirt with Granny! Lol! Sawa thinks what she should do and calls Setsu! Family plus Setsu assemble in the living room and after little thinking Sawa asks boys if they would like to have father, they answer that they would! It is settled then, man in that room is their father from now on! Setsu says that she should think about it! Grandma says she is fine with whatever they say! What?! I was sure she would be against it but Granny says she is ready to approve because Sawa is so good to her! Aww! And it sounds fun! Ha! Suddenly suit guy appears on the door! They all stumble to greet him and ask if he is ok and Sawa shows Shun to go to him! Little guy adorably runs to hug him calling him 'Papa'! Grandma comments how stars are beautiful and guy comes by the window! Little Shun shows Sawa tumbs up behind his back! Aw! He stares at the stars till Setsu quietly tells Sawa to give him a name and she calls him Hoshio( Hoshi-star, his name literally means star man)! Sawa says he is her husband Uno Hoshio and those are their kids! Miyu-san is her Grandma! His head hurts so she drags himinto the room! There she gives him clothes to change and he feels awkward so turns her back to take off shirt! This guy is HOT! He asks if that is really his(it is short and girly) but she assures him that it is, just that she washed it on higher temperature! HA! He asks if they are married and she says they are and he is so in love with her that it is problem! This girl is awesome! He looks little incredulous but she says that he is sounding like she will kick his ass if he says otherwise so he apologize! She tells him to sleep and he is awkward when she puts hand on his shoulder! In the kitchen girls are happy but Setsu needs to go! They greet and it is so nice to have a show where you see that friends are cheering for each other! Setsu says good woman does get to be lucky and Sawa says Setsu is surely next! Cute! On her way home Setsu meets Kenchi and he is talking but she just exhales and passes by! At home Sawa is talking with Granny and older woman says that boy wanted to kill himself surely! He didn't have IDs for no reason! Sawa is surprised that Granny would know that but Granny says he red detectiv stories! LOL! also she says Sawa needs to start telling lies because doing job half won't do no good!
Next morning Sawa peaks trough door and finds Shun sleeping with Hoshio! It would have been cute if Hoshio didn't start to twitch like something was trying to get out of his body! It lasted few seconds and then he woke up! Creepy! Sawa moves curtains and wakes up Shun to eat! Hoshio smiles looking at cute kid! At breakfast Dai is the only one who obviously doesn't like Hoshio! Granny says she will be ok with Hoshio and Sawa teases her that she dressed pretty! Ha! Later Granny finds Hoshio staring at Mt Fuji! She sits him down and tells him Sawas' story! She was born and raised there! Her father and Grampa died and she and Granny are together for some time! Sawa is great girl, loving and caring but can be scary and appears rough! She had husband with whom she has those kids and he just disappeared! After that Hoshi came and fell in love with Sawa and they welcomed him into their home!
Granny you are genius! Sawa buys clothes for Hoshi when her nosy chef sees her! He spreads the word and latter Sawa has to lie that it is for the kids! Sure, kids wear size 50! She changes the subject by asking where is Bored Sachiko! She says her boyfriend should know and they all look at Ando who is shocked that they know! Baka! Sachiko took the day off to go and look the place where shooting star fell! There she finds boat with pill bottle! Trouble!
Sawa comes home with little Shun who runs to hug Hoshios' legs while Hoshio welcomes him home! These two are adorable! And then more adorable when these two boys take bath together! And more when Sawa comes to bring Hoshio clothes and little guy is laughing! Why are they having glass door on the shower?!
Sawa is happy but her elder boys are not! Dai decided he doesn't like the guy and he can't think about him as father so Hide reluctantly agrees to take his side! They say that nothing is matter but she knows something is wrong and behind closed door asks them to forgive her for she is just woman! Aww! In kitchen is better atmosphere because Shun and Hoshio are bonding while drawing! Shun says that he is going to sleep with Papa again, Sawa and Hoshio share a look and she says ok!
Next day boys are getting ready for baseball game when Dai says that Hoshio may be a bad guy! Younger boys stare wide-eyed! And it works, for when everyone come out to wish Dai and Hide luck little Shun takes Moms' hand and boys ignore Hoshio! Sawa uses Grannys' words saying that boys are in difficult age! Hm! Family gets ready and they come to look the game! Of course Hoshio attracts a lot of attention and asks Sawa why is it! She brushes it of as guys being interested in his health! Hm!
Game begins and Dai is great! He is fast runner, great batter and overall great at baseball! Hide, on the other hand, can't hit the ball and apologizes after every fail! He is out fast and Dai pats him on the back saying he will hit it next time! He also cheered him the whole time! Aww! Hoshio sees that and comments how Dai is good brother and Sawa agrees! What they didn't see is little Shun who wandered at court and is picking the ground! Little dirt won't do him no harm but that ball approaching his head might! Sawa screams his name but Hoshio does this ridiculous jump-flip-catch thing and catches the ball just in front of little guys face! Woah! That was awesome and ridiculous at the same time! Quiet guy from Sawas' workplace is there and Bored Sachiko and everyone stop and stare! Hide might have to wash his jaw because it is on the ground! Lol! Shun looks at him and says that was cook and everyone start to clap! Except from old man who looks like he knows something but hurriedly drives away!
After family Uno is returning home when Sawa comes and walks with Hoshio(who is having Shun in his hands*-*)! He says to her that he can't remember anything but he does understand why he should be in love with her! She smiles but then remembers that is a lie and says aloud that he sure should be in love with her! He thinks he should hurry and remember! She nods but her guilty conscience doesn't let her sleep that night! She goes out and finds Hoshio looking at the stars again! He says looking at them gives him nostalgic feeling! She jokes that he must be alien and he asks what is that! She imitates alien talk and they laugh!
Aaa! I am shallow but for this amount of cute i don't care if he is alien! I must admit the best parts for me were Shun and Hoshio hanging around and being all cute! Also i love Sawa and can understand why she does what she is doing! She is man in the house for the long time and needs someone just for the sake of not feeling so lonely! Her situation is sad but she manages to keep smile on her face like all the time! It is admirable! And the fact that she wants the man who doesn't run away but finds one that just might run from his life makes it more tragic for her! I am not talking for the alien part just for the body because we don't know aliens' story! Anyway i hope we won't go from cute to melodrama and if that at the end was preview for next episode i think that is not our path! Lucky me!
