Boku Unmei no Hito Desu episode 6
I went little overboard with length of this one but if you are watching this you know that every detail counts. Tried to get some stuff out and later regreter it cause they called it in one way or another. Will try to make it shorter in next one.
Goofy friend gets pestered to take red loving Female coworker to dinner since he lost arm-wrestling match. He obviously doesn't want to but girl is like a dog with a bone. All the conversations shift to Scowly colleague when he appears looking like he came out of flood and asks Masaki to go drinking after work. The reason is this: That morning he went jogging and caught a familiar scent. A scent of Yotsuya. He followed it and luck smiled his way for she got out of a building. He was beyond himself and made a move to say hello when a man appeared by Yotsuya. And it was a man he saw before. Sadaoka. Its like someone cursed him for after that a client bailed on him. Sheesh. They drink to drown his sorrows and somehow end up in Makotos' apartment. It seems like Makoto is the only one sober but he is now afraid they will see God so he has to tell them someone might come. Baka Duo is totally disrespectful, Goofy peeks into his room commenting on his fancy living space while Scowly pops open a 14000+yen bottle Makoto bought in first episode. Yay for non-intrusive friends. Goofy tells Makoto to put "that" on and it is a video of him and Makoto half drunk being interviewed about some game. Goofy boosts about them being on tv but Makoto can't believe his eyes: Haruko passed right behind them that night! What is even more shocking is that they were in town just for that night, they lived in Shizuoka. Someone knocks at the door and i am afraid to even think who it may be. It seems Makoto is too so he is determined not to answer. But Baka Duo threatens to open the door themselves so he has to. Luckily it is a package.
Our girl Haruko is at the moment being cute with her Mom sharing stories of dating Dad and reason she got married to him. Mom tells that there wasn't just one thing that made her decide to marry him. And because there was not just one thing made her decide easier.
Next morning, Makoto and Scowly colleague are eating breakfast. Goofy went home late into night cause he aparently has a date today. Scowly offers to wash clothes Makoto borrowed him last night and apologizes for being bother. Makoto earnestly tells him to come whenever and i think Scowly apreciates it. As soon as doors are shut behind Scowly, God appears. He complains on "old man" being there and Makoto not doing anything with Haruko. He proceeds to give Makoto a challenge for this week. It is to "rule the roost", as in act like a man and that apparently means answer in one word when talking to Haruko(or like Sadaoka and sleep with her right away). Makoto argues that this is impossible and God changes it to 3 syllables tops. Makoto is not comfortable with this cause he can't even say goodbye to her but God tells him to be creative. Yeah, i don't like God right now.
Makoto goes to old mans' bar with Sadaoka after work and Sadaoka reveals that nothing happened with him and Yotsuya. She wanted to see his pets iguana and armadillo and fell asleep after few cups of wine. Makoto wonders about this but Sadaoka points that as Harukos' friend he can't treat Yotsuya lightly. Right then Haruko and Yotsuya appear and guys invite them to sit with them. Yotsuya wonders about seeing them together but guys say they do this frequently after Sadaoka helped Makoto out. Haruko asks what with and it sucks cause she asked Makoto so only answer he has is "nothing". But then Sadaoka starts talking about gym thing and Makoto joins in and it with Harukos' next question it gets obvious something is not right. Even Yotsuya asks about it on their way back. Haruko thinks he may be mad at her and Yotsuya prods her gently to go out with him cause he obviously won't wait forever. Also not the past, she is holding herself back now. Awww, Yotsuya is such a great friend.
Makoto is trowing a tantrum at home. He litterally looks like little kid. So God decides to put pause on "rule the roost" and try diferent thing. Which is carving king on shogi tile. Another macho thing. Ugh. God thinks that only thing Makoto needs to do is bring Haruko to his apartment and leave everything to him. Makoto is afraid of this. Lol. At Harukos' home, Mom tells Dad that Haruko may have found someone cause she asked about wedding. Haruko is at the moment having problem to even call Makoto. She is still haunted by memory of her ex telling her he is married.

Everyone is happy, even red loving girl who tells Makoto about going out with Goofy. He promissed to go out with her again which puta huge smile on her face. Goofy makes Scowly come cause there is nothing between Sadaoka and Yotsuya. Also at the same time will be important football game for Japan so Boss asks of them not to tell him result at any cost.
On his errand, Makoto manages to find big shogi king shaped piece. He does his best at home to carve king into it while God distracts him. Poor Makoto even falls asleep on it and rushes out of apartment because he woke up late.
After work, two companies get together at old mans'place and Makotos' boss is nice to Harukos' director, obviously cause she is doing them consultation on lower fee. Scowly is chuging beer because Yotsuya said she likes seeing man drink it. Girls called Red loving girl to eat with them cause she has no one at her company to eat with. Everyone is getting along... That is till Harukos' director finds out Makotos' boss is married with kid and Yotsuya apologizes to Haruko for she will try to go out with Sadaoka. Right in front of Scowly. He flips out and starts blabbering how Makoto is living with someone and he saw tofu bag in his kitchen. Not cool dude, he let you sleep in his house when you were drunk and down. Makoto right away says it is misunderstanding but seed of doubt is easily planted in Harukos' mind. Director lady is on her way out and says they can stay but she is leaving. Makotos' boss asks why this early but she icily tells him to hurry home cause Japan is loosing 2-0. Buahahaha. This woman is gold.
Makoto is chasing behind Haruko and begs for chance to explain. He wants her to come to his home and see for herself making a good point saying he couldn't know she is coming so he couldn't stage anything. He even tells her to have her phone in her hand entire time ready to call police if she is afraid. Even if this doesn't clear him from suspicion, he wants her to see it for herself. Bravo Makoto! That is a man right there!
She decides to come, after all. Makoto is keeping the distance and tells her to ask about ANYTHING she sees and is curious about. He shows her tofu bag and explains he got it from friend. She wonders why he is doing it then and he shows her can from last episode where it is written to rule the roost. She wonders if he hopes to have it in his household but he right away says that it should be aproved by wife. If Haruko would want it out he could easily dispose of it. Her eyes catche the sight of mess on the floor from carving and he right away jumps to vacuume it. Aww. But then she catches the sight of a blue shirt that is drying. Makoto right away explains that it is his, he owns it for 2years and bought it when Japan had football match. He even has that recording as proof. But now she remembers that night and that he even spoke to her. He doesn't remember, obviously, he was wasted. Haruko confesses that said day was the worst one in her life. She was dumped by her boyfriend and her whole world broke into pieces. Haruko thought he will propose and was just confused but man already had a wife. She was walking aimlessly and wondering why did person she though was her soulmate, hurt her like that? Why did he lied to her when he had family? She sat and cried when Makoto, drunk as a skunk, urged her not to cry and that they will win next time. He mistook her for football fan cause her coat was the same blue as their shirts. She was so mad to be treated badly on that day of all the days. He wonders how she knew it is him but she remembers what was written on that shirt: When it rains, it pours. Yeah, not really a good luck shirt. It just described her day and when she had to change her mail cause the man kept contacting her(what an asshole) she put that saying into her mail. After few seconds of silence, with tears in her eyes, she softly asks Makoto if she can win her next match? Poor baby. He tells her she will win. She wonders if she can trust him and he blurts that he likes her. To his shock, she tells she likes him too. He starts crying and kneels before her thanking her.
At that moment a rice bag he got from his parents turns over and rice rains over the floor. While they are collecting it, outside rain starts pouring for real. They smile at all this.
Makoto escorts Haruko to taxi and tells her to take umbrella with her. After all it was the one he bought for her on her birthday. She smiles warmly and tells him to borrow it for this time and return it to her next time. So cuuute. While sitting in the car, Haruko listens to radio reporter saying that after incredible match, Japan won the game. She turns to see Makoto waving as always and this time she smiles contently. Makoto is drying his hair when gets a message from Haruko saying she arrived, telling him not to catch a cold and wishing goodnight. He smiles. God appears pointing that all his most important sentences were 3 syllables. Makoto brushes it off as coincidence and says he was happy that God didn't interfere tonight. God is appalled. Who hung that blue shirt on such place? Who made more wood dirt while Makoto wasn't there? That is right, God. Makoto points that his tofu bag made problem in the first place. God takes out his ruffled apron wondering what would have happened if she found it. Lol. Makoto tells him not to bring any more things over. In fact since they are now dating there is no need for God to come any more. But God disagrees. They needed a month and a half to begin dating, but now they will have just a month to get married. What?! Are you bonkers? Makoto logically says it is too soon but God tells him if that doesn't happen world will get destroyed.
I honestly don't like God in this episode.
But i do like the episode per se. The fact that Sadaoka became better friend to Makoto than his friends is something i really like. I was afraid he will become one of those boring supporting characters. Luckily i was wrong and he is becoming someone who helps Makoto out, be it directly with training, or indirectly, by talking about his pace with Yotsuya or just hanging out. It is refreshing. His temper fits Makotos' and he seems like great guy.
Unlike some scowly asshole who has to drag someone else into despair hole on his way in. I get it, he was drunk, he was heartbroken and mad. No need to vent your anger on your friend though.
Other thing i like is Haruko showing that she cares. We saw glimpses in past episodes but usually it was just Makoto pushing trough. This time she is the one who pushes through her barriers. First with wanting to talk with Makoto(when they were on double date with Yotsuya and Sadaoka). Remember her ignoring him first time they were out? We are long way from that. Wanting to call him, and actively thinking about him being mad at her. And of course accepting his love. Girl has changed and decided to confronts her fears head on. Good job on it.
We will have a problem with directors as i see cause that lady seems like someone who holds grudges. Of course, boss is also at fault here. What are you doing man?!
Lastly, i hope that red loving girl gets her happily ever after cause i like her. She has cojones.
