Koizora: ep 3. And the fun continues!

Sep 15, 2008 00:25

Yes, this is the ep with the Great Hair Transformation, wherein Hiro goes from this:

To this:

While simultaneously maintaining his ideal boyfriend vibe.

In today's installment of Koizora we have teen pregnancy, rock concerts, miscarriages, and cancer. And snow babies.

I think we have everything but the kitchen sink in this drama and I am sure the latter will appear in ep 4. Leave some plot for the rest of Japan!

"Your baby is in my belly." That is what she literally says.

ROFL, and as soon as he hears, he bolts. I laughed and laughed and laughed. Well, at least it's realistic.

But it turns out he just ran to get a teddy-bear for the baby. What is it with the teddy bear fixation with this drama? Is it Goong?

And he thanks her for having his baby. Now we know for sure he is not a 16-year-old boy, but a member of an evil alien race who decided to take over the earth through procreating with human women. That's the only explanation.

Awww. This is cute. Dorky but cute. But ahhh, the irony of Hiro saying he wants a daughter and will pick her bf. Because that worked so well for Mika's Dad.

Hiro's family is not thrilled but won over by power of true love.

OK, I am totally touched, I confess. He says he will quit school and work and they will get married when they are 18. Attaboy.

Her parents are not convinced however, and (understandably) want her to get an abortion. But after a pretty awesome conversation between themselves (did I mention I love her family), they back down somewhat, a little.

Hair fun:

My inner 15-year old comes out and I just think this is totally adorably cool.

Great love and bad hair clearly go together:

Much better-looking, now that he is not albino. And in a suit. Also being responsible.

Playing at Romeo & Juliet...

OK, I give up. I am a total sucker. I like Hiro (who is freezing and freaking out and determined outside Mika's house and wants to convince Mika's Dad. He succeeds). I like Mika and her excitement. I think they are adorable and I am rooting for them and their baby, even if I know that she is about to miscarry and he is shortly after to die of cancer. You are evil, Koizora, eeeeeevil, with your lures...

It's kinda an awesome scene though...

Happy New Year!

It's a drama! Of course it's not happy! She loses the baby. I can't really mock.

Exiting the hospital:

And Hiro runs up and she asks him why his hands are cold and he says he was praying. Awwww.

And then they overdo it with the angst and I check out. Plus, Snow Baby. Hahahahahaha.

Time passes. He proposes marriage. Awwwww. And they are being so clever and ironic with doing the whole 'we have all the time in the world' speech. People, I've seen kdramas, I know what happens when couples talk like that.

Cough! We know it's a sign of doooooooooooooooooooooooooooom and not an untimely flu.

Hell, they are SO cute, despite the crazed plot!

Awww. Frell it. I am a soft-hearted sucker and thus am genuinely shipping them despite my snark and it's just in time for everything to go to hell.

She is buying him a hat. I-ro-ny!

And he finds out he has cancer. Awwww. Dammit Koizora, for sucking me in and actualy caring about these dumbbells.

As I said, the makers discovered irony and are using it up before they forget about it...
