Of all the dramas out there, Korean ones are my favorite kind. Whether it's the amazing production values, tall and masculine hotties (often with swords), adorable heroines, or just the total cracktastic emo, I don't know. But kdramas rock.
But which are my favorite kdramas? And why? Here is a Top 10 list, with reasons, vids, and pics. Note: no

So I stumbled onto this post after creeping through Asian Dramas in LJ.
I just recently, and I mean recently (Jan 2008) got into asian dramas. My first one was 'My Girl' which I saw by chance at my cousins house and by boredom I found it on the internet and decided to continue and it was adorable and fulfilled my inside chick.
After that I went searching through mysoju.com and one night randomly clicked on Devil Beside You. Fell in love with that, although it was mostly through Mike He's bad boy persona that I loved. Finished that and found out that, hey! Mike He and Rainie Yang did another series together, Why Why Love and watched that also. Became hooked on another drama.
It was after those 3 dramas that I watched that I decided to lurk on the internet. Through some forums I found out that Full House was a popular series so I watched it. It was okay. Once again, it fulfilled my the teenagegirl inside of me and had its cute moments. Like someone said in the comments above me, I wasn't a big fan of Rain and his indecisiveness and I felt it took a long time to get to how he felt.
Then I decided to watch another popular one, ISWAK. Which I just finished yesterday. It was very annoying but cliched and I liked it. I hate hate weak female characters so it took a lot to watch it. I'm currently on the sequel now.
To cut this looong comment short, thanks for this post. I found it on the Dorama Chat site and it gives me another drama to look forward to. After ISWAK2, I'm going to need another drama to watch and I think I'll go with A Love To Kill or Tree of Heaven. Although I'd prefer to watch a funny romantic one. Which one would you consider more in that genre?
The thing is I've only ever watched American TV and American movies and I've gotten used to a certain filming standard and I feel that if I were to watch a historical drama or action/suspense Asian drama, it would be either too soap opera for me or too badly filmed. The romantic comedy is hard to mess up so I've been doing that for now. Also, I've never really been a big fan of crying while watching a movie or tv show. Or any kind of angst.
Anyways, I've really written a lot now, sorry for taking up your journal space. It's just that I don't get a chance to speak about asian dramas with anyone I know because, I'm the only person that watches them. It's such an interesting culture, and the stereotypes are apparent in the dramas, but it is entertaining to watch.
I will keep this list handy.

Neither ALTK or ToH are romantic comedies, sorry. They are actually quite tragic.
Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang is very funny, from that list. And so is Goong. Both are romantic.
I don't watch too many action/adventure dramas so can't speak as to their quality, but some period dramas are excellently made (at least the Korean ones).
If you want to check out Japanese dramas, and want a funny, romantic one, Hotaru No Hikari is really really good.
