watching Nodame Cantabile has made me love Tamaki Hiroshi, the actor playing Chiaki Shinichi. i don't really know what it was about him that grabbed me, but he did, and now he's my new fav Japanese actor. i made my sister fall for him too =P. thank god for that or it would have taken me even longer to discover his most recently released movie Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru (or by it's international title, Heavenly Forest), which also stars Miyazaki Aoi (Hachiko, from NANA.
taken from
yesasia.com Amateur photographer Makoto (Tamaki Hiroshi) and the homely but endearing Shizuru (Miyazaki Aoi) meet during university orientation and become instant friends. Shy by nature, Makoto finds himself opening up around Shizuru, and the two often go to a forest together to take photographs. Shizuru secretly likes Makoto, but he only has eyes for classmate Miyuki (Kuroki Meisa). When Shizuru decides to enter a photography contest, she asks Makoto to kiss her in the forest to create the perfect picture. But after that fateful day, Shizuru disappears.
the story of young, sweet and innocent love. i absolutely loved this movie. it's sweet and whole-hearted, and had be blubbering like a baby. my favourite Japanese movie yet. the actors totally captured into this story, and it was beautifully shot.
to pimp this movie,
-->here<-- is a movie trailer, spoilery screencaps, and the theme song by Otsuka Ai (with lyrics and the translations) that i posted onto my own lj.
