Actually, I believe this is a TVB(mainland China) series. Not that it REALLY matters that much(most of the TW period/wuxia dramas tend to be joint efforts, such as Strange Tales of LiaoZhai)

I'm looking forward to this one, and have really liked the TVB series I've seen.

Could someone add the tags for hu ge and legend of the condor heroes, please, since I'm pretty sure they won't show up.
Tags will show up, the comm is so small, ppl can still add tags themselves :)

Great picspam :)

No they don't. When I posted it, only the "pics" and "ariel lin" tags showed up. Everything else was missing, even though I had entered them in the tag field. I've had the same problem of tags not showing up several times before as well, which is why I every now and then ask the mods to add tags to my posts.

BTW, since this is a mainland Chinese drama, I changed the tag from "twdrama" to "cdrama", but with my luck, I think it will go missing since no one has used that particular tag before in this community.

Great picspam :)
Thanks.

Wow...it looks so pretty! I'm not too sure what the show's about, but the costumes are so gorgeous that I'm already intrigued. Ariel Lin looks really cute, but the only other thing that I've seen Ariel Lin in was ISWAK. This seems slightly different!

I'm excited for this because Hu Ge is my favourite chinese actor, and Ariel is my favourite taiwanese actress. I also grew up with the Condor Trilogy (my parents are huge fans of the author's novels and all the adaptations of it into films, dramas, etc), and I've yet to really see a complete version of this particular volume.

Have you seen the recent "Return of the Condor Heroes"? I'm wondering if I should wait to see this before watching that.

Also, have you seen "Chinese Paladin" with Hu Ge? I have it and am pondering watching it when I finish "Emperor of the Sea" but I haven't decided yet.

My brother has seen all of ROCH, and he loved it, but I only managed to catch about half of it. But I've seen that particular adaptation about 2357636 times so I know what happens. Though I must say, it is beautifully made, and the leads are amazingly good looking.

You don't HAVE to have seen LOCH before you watch ROCH, but I think if you do, you'll have more appreciation for the characters and better understand their motivations. Ariel and Hu Ge's characters are in both, and they play a pretty big role in ROCH.

ROCH is really a grand/dramatic love story at heart (kind of a us-against-the-world thing). LOCH, I think, has a bit more emphasis on politics/history and the journey of one character's climb to power/tyranny.

I've seen Chinese Paladdin, it's fun/cute. It doesn't take itself that seriously, and it definitely leans towards fantasy.

Ah, cool, I think I'll hold off on it for now(cuz, you know, I'm not going to run out of chinese series anytime soon) ROCH, that is.

Think I may go ahead and start Chinese paladin....suspect I'll need a lighter and fun period piece after I've finished EotS.

The other chinese series I've seen are Lost in the Chamber of Love, The Gentle Crackdown and Seven Swordsmen.
