we got our power back today. it's really sad when you think about how helpless and desperate we are without technology. i am very glad to have my computer back, along with my lights, my stereos, my televisions. i couldn't imagine what the omish would feel like on a daily basis.
yesterday was the big blackout. palmer and i went to visit jess @ papa's and she looked really dazed/confused. i felt really bad, but i had to leave to get ready for work, and joe wasn't hungry. when we went back to my house, we headed to my room to play dreamcast. we were in the middle of our second round of marvel vs. capcom 2 when the power went out. i figured it was a slight glych, so we played texas hold em and chess. i had to concede even though the game was his. i rushed upstairs to change into my uniform and i left joe to fend for himself with my parents. i got ready in about 5 minutes, and i went into the bathroom (which didn't have a light on at the time). while i was in there i heard him talking to my parents about breaking his arm, missing states in swimming by 1 & 1/2 seconds, and completely missing out on his tennis season (i thought i had it bad). then i heard him say that he was heading off, and he said bye through the door, but i couldn't leave (for obvious reasons), so all i could say was "later" back. i felt guilty for being a bad house-host and for not seeing him to the door... but i didn't know what else to do. he seemed forgiving at work but i still felt bad. anyway, me and jesse both appreciated his company. on my way to work, i realized that none of the traffic lights were fully functional, but, like an idiot, i kept on driving. i got to work 10 minutes late, but everybody pow-wow'ed around the concession stand in the dark, and the alarm was blaring. the "twats" (don't know if i spelled that right shae... but you're not the only one who can use that word! ha ha) made us stay there til 9. by then i was tired, so i ended up falling asleep at 11, hot and bothered. life's a bitch without air conditioning...
EVANESCENCE!!! i played Clue at monica's house and kicked her ass two out of three. we're gonna have a rematch someday, but i don't know when that is. after that we headed to Ronnie's then his friend's house. they bought cameras at walgreen's but i saved my money for souvenirs. when we got to detroit, bobby (ronnie's friend) shouted something along the lines of "Niggah's in the house y'all" and there was a big dude in a freaky-petifile flivver with duct tape on the windows next to the car. thought there was gonna be some conflict... but he sped up and drove away. when we got to Harpo's, there was a huge line so we figured we wouldn't get to see Amy Lee up close n personal. Upon our entrance, i bought a t-shirt and then we made our way inside. We were able to stand about 10 feet away from the stage (amazing spot). the first band "Cauterize" was my favorite next to Evanescence. Then came, Revis, Cold, and finally Evanescence. Amy Lee was gorgeous. she had this sweet make-up around her eye (kinda reminded me of Psylocke (favorite x-woman)). she had this unbelievable stage presence. The music was awesome, the band was incredible, her voice was untouchable. Oh yeah, almost forgot... i almost fainted during the very last song of the concert. i sat on the floor twice for about 10 seconds and then got back up. when the last song ended, i walked through the crowd as fast as i could leaving ronnie and them behind. on the way to this huge fan that i saw at the top of the stairs, i saw Emilia from MJR. i said "hi" really fast and kept walking cuz i needed that fan so badly. when i got to the fan i felt like an anvil was lifted off of my shoulders. i sat there for about 5 minutes and found the guys by the bathrooms. we headed to the car and monica chauffeured us home. so glad ronnie/monica talked me into making that my first concert appearance (night to remember).
tomorrow (today now) i plan on going with jess to toledo but we have to see what the parental units have to say. i also have to call MJR and tell them that i'm gonna be late for worky jerky "iambic pentameter... wameter". if both of these tasks run smoothly, then it should be a go. all depends on jess :)
i've realized that i can be a jerk sometimes... so i'm gonna try to work on minding my own business. sweet dreams all.
