Bah, good point. You just reminded me of the reason why I wanted Angel's grace so much for a red/white deck with some Phages. ;) (W, instant. Split-second. You can't lose the game and your opponent can't win the game this turn, and any damage that would take your life total below one drops it to one instead). If I play that, the triggered ability is activated, but due to Angel's grace, I can't lose the game.
I'm likely going to eventually do a deck with 4 angel's graces, 4 sneak attacks, 4 phages, and 4 Gambles (R, sorcery. Search your deck for a card, put it in your hand, then discard a card at random). Sure, the Gamble is risky, but the odds of it screwing me over are relatively low.
And cool idea with the Shapeshifter. I'd like to use white better for that, though. After all, there are so many "give protection of x color until end of turn" (after all, if your creature has protection from x, creatures of the color x can't block you, and it also protects from the nasty cards that would destroy the creature) that it works as well, and fits with using Angel's grace.

Or just put her into play on your opponent's side. That works too.
