Obamanos?

Last night was the 'historical' speech by Barack - with the media hyping the fact that it was the 45th annivesary of MLK's "I have a dream" speech, I thought Barack was slightly dry. Hillary's speech earlier this week was AMAZING in comparison, though as L.Duke points out hers was much much shorter. I think he did hook a good deal of people with strategic mentions of specific plans like changing the tax code to reward companies who stay in American and cutting taxes for working class families and creating 5 million new "green" jobs to eliminate dependence on middle east oil. I thought it was smart to throw in a plea to get beyond the divisive issues of abortion & hating on the gays by saying 'we may disagree, but at least we can agree to reduced unwanted pregnancies. . .at least we can agree that gays should be able to visit the people they love when dying in a hospital.' He was clearly trying to make social republicans feel comfortable enough to vote for him because of his economic proletarian policies.

L.Duke and I agree on the two most disappointing parts of the DNC: 1) Barack failed in any way shape or form to appeal to Latino voters - he didn't mention immigration, he didn't say a word in spanish, he didn't give a shout out to any hispanic politicians or activists or struggles of the past; 2) The fashion adviser for Michelle Obama needs to be beaten over the head with bouqets of sequin roses - two nights in a row she had dresses on with these hideous flower creations all around her collar. Is that the price of first-ladyship?
