Math Autobiography
I have been good at math all my life. I can do it in my head most of the
time and I could from the very beginning. I stopped counting on my fingers in
first grade. I am good at math. When I was in preschool I was able to do
multi-step addition in my head.
I like math more than the average Joe. I like the way it works and how
there is a rule for just about everything. That's also where I get caught up.
I have all of the mechanics down, I just can't get all of the rules and laws
straight. Also, during my 7th grade math class, I would not catch a certain
vital thing and I wouldn't bother to ask to clarify it. So now I have random
holes inmy knowledge of math and sometimes I need seemingly simple thing
clarified.
I think that math is very important. We use it every day just looking
at the clock. We use it to pay for things to eat and to count out money. It is
vital in every day life and it is also very entertaining to try and solve a math
problem. Before I went into home schooling I would just let my grade drop,
but now that I have been through home schooling I have developed more skills
for stepping up and taking control. I have tried to make my grade beter if I
knew it was slipping.
