and it continues.....
Well, this is sure an eventful week. First, I fret about the roomate situation, then some light gets shed (and there have been a couple more people that are interested). Then the weather goes to pot, and my drive home from work yesterday almost becomes a game of shuffle board. THEN, my dad calls me last night and tells me that Mom is back in the hospital. *sigh* Here we go again.
She had an abscess in her colon back in June, but antibiotics were able to keep her from having surgery to removing the infected part. Well, THIS time, the pain was a lot worse, and the abscess was really close to bursting. She got to the hospital on time, but is definitely going to have a colostomy.
Goodness, all this after she finally got out of her back brace 2 weeks ago....
I've joked with people before about how Mom is a "walking medicine cabinet", but seriously, she's been through a LOT this past year. She literally has taken a physical beating. And although she always shows how much pain she's in, she's still a strong person for getting through it. I just hope and pray that the colostomy can wait a little while. However, I talked to her earlier this morning, and it might very well happen today. She can get it reversed a few months later, but still...I thought this was totally under control ever since the incident in the summer. I shouldn't have been assuming.
I need to clear my head before work...oy.
