(Ken Nordine pioneered a spoken-word style which he entitled "Word-Jazz" in the late 1950's and early 60's. His "Happy-Angst" as he is fond of calling it, has brought comparisons to Beats like Ginsberg, Kerouac, and Kesey. Personally I think he's altogether DIFFERENT and BETTER than those guys. I mean his stuff is completely original! It's not poetry, it's not music.. it's something altogether different. A true inovator. No one else like him.. ever before, or after! )
