I'm so sorry to hear about your job, Rob. Sometimes when I talk to you I can't help thinking that you sometimes sabotage yourself in your quest to be true to yourself. It seems we must be true to the boss to get some security, which explains why I often have trouble hanging onto jobs myself. But know this....I have confidence in you and I know that when you're true to yourself it gives satisfaction that you can't get any other way. You're truer to yourself than I am and I admire you for that. Even though the world won't respect you for it.
Yeah, there's some of that, I know. The funny thing is, you're not the first person to say that to me, so I'm sure it has some merit.. I really appreciate input from friends and I don't take any offense, so don't worry John. Oh, the above poem is by the 86 yr old Lawrence Ferlinghetti. It's one of his that I actually like. (it sounds better when he reads it) It was written BEFORE 9-11, but is beauifully prophetic to me, stong prior to and since the events of that day. It's reassuring to me to see guys like Nordine and Ferlinghetti still learning and growing and putting out good stuff at the ripe old age of 86. Ofcourse Nordine could kick Mr Furly's ass 7 days a week and twice on Sunday, but that's just because he's more talented..
