So I've been really meaning to write here but things were getting pretty hectic. I am done with my cinematography final!!! And now I am biting at the bit with anxiousness about the film getting developed. I put my everything into this little film and I'm hundreds of dollars in dept on credit cards. I posted a lot of pics on my facebook and some on myspace.
The film was shot on 300 feet of 500T fuji film. We shot on the SFSU soundstage. To my dismay the directing class painted the flats green. We repainted all the flats beige and then wallpapered them with newspaper from the college newspaper.
Shooting went really well with few holdups. Here's the cast and crew list:
Writer, Director, Assisstant director, art direction, special effects makeup and gore effect engineer and technician
Brandon Doo
Director of Photography
Ryan Hildebrant
Camera Operator
Andy Haney
1st Assisstant Camera
Charles Davis
Gaffer
Ben Lunden
Grip
Catherine Lombardo
Victim
Alex Miller
Zombie
Kimi Sakamoto
Body
Sean Lynch
and a slew of great help from the Cinema Collective.
Lately I've been really busy. I counted them up and I have been working on four films at the same time! I love staying busy but I don't think I'll ever do this to myself again. Anyway though, I've been getting really interested in gore effects and the like. So I've been providing gore for films all over and the two main gore effects we had for "Zombie's feast" was a head that shot blood and a body that got ripped open with intestines being pulled out. The head didn't work so well only because the wig obstructed the hose and the shot was so tight anyway that you couldn't see the blood anyway. But the big effect for the shoot went off perfectly! I was really happy and disgusted. It was a good match.
