I was originally going to make a post about how utterly brilliant the band Eels are, especially their latest album, Blinking Lights and Revelations. In this post I was going to talk about how even after seeing them just over a week ago at their No Strings Attached tour, I was still obsessed with them, which very rarely happens in my case. I usually go hard listening to a band before seeing them, see them, and then don't play another one of their songs for months, years in some cases. But in the case of the Eels, I've still be going strong, grown more appreciative, and more obsessed, even moreso than I was back in highschool, scouring eBay for discontinued singles and whatnot. (Though back in highschool it seemed like every second band I came across was omg greatest band evar). To finish off I was going to say how this was probably an indicator of a truly great collective of musicians.
Then I decided it was too boring of a post for me to make the effort.
But this morning I decided to check my Last.fm page, and was pretty amused by just how much Eels I had been listening to in the past week.
Needless to say I'm going to start raising my niece on Eels whenever can.
PS. I just want to say that I quite dislike new Last.fm site design. Web 2.0 my ass.
