I have seen the movie, and lo...
So, so wonderful. I last read PoA sometime last summer (and even then I don't think I finished it), so I wasn't as nitpicky about the changes as some of my cohorts. I loved the feel of the movie - very happy with Alfonso Cuaron's direction. All the supernatural elements really worked - Buckbeak and the Dementors especially - and felt very integrated, more so than in the previous two movies. The world of Hogwart's felt more *real* to me this time around.
The highlight, though, the thing I've been fervently anticipating since I bought my ticket, was Sirius and Remus. And my worries about over-hyping it were so, so unnecessary. Those boys were all over each other! A happy slasher, I. Oh, and Snape's line about them sounding like a married couple? I don't recall if that's from the book or not, but it made me squee (quietly, though, as I had no slash-literate cohorts with me).
Another watching is definitely in order, possibly on Wednesday as a celebration of the end of classes, and a last bit of fun before the start of finals.
And now I really ought to sleep, as there's this whole bridal shower thing happening tomorrow. Gah. At least there will be mud wrestling with the LDL girls on Sunday. Must maintain the balance of the force and all that.
