People really piss me off.
Know what you're talking about before you open your mouth!
Don't just say something and not be able to defend it.
Know what YOU personally believe before you tell someone they are wrong. The easiest way to lose an argument is to not have facts to back up your case.
Expect people to tell you you're wrong. Be able to tell them why you believe you're not.
I'll repeat that. Be able to tell them why you believe you're not wrong.
The best weapon you can pair with your strong beliefs is an open mind and an empathetic heart.
Don't assume. Don't be judgmental.
Feelings do not replace facts.
Fiery rhetoric that sounds good and impassioned, even, does not replace the truth.
And while I'm at it, vote.
Voting is your civic privilege and responsibility.
If you are over 18 and you don't vote you have no right to complain. How lazy it is to complain and not take the action to change the status quo.
And if you're under 18, first of all, enjoy it. Secondly, keep fighting for what you believe. If you can change one persons mind then you've succeeded. Hang in there. The Constitution doesn't apply to you, yet, anyway.
